About Ryan

Ryan Tomsett started his racing career at 6 years old,  driving an indoor kart at Ultimate Karting Sydney and within 6 months Ryan had the track record at the venue which he continued to lower over the years!

Ryan started outdoor Karting a year later at 7 years old and went on to win his first 6 races before electing to compete in the Rotax Pro Tour, where Ryan raced against competitors 2-3 years older than him, ultimately finishing the Championship in 4th place.

Ryan took on the Australian Kart Championship at 8 years old, and won the Australian Championship in his first attempt, becoming the youngest Australian Champion in the history of the sport! The following year Ryan won the Australian Karting Championship again, making him the youngest ever 2 x Australian Champion. Over the next 4 years Ryan went on to win 2 x NSW State Championships and over 100 other races!

Ryan stepped up in to cars with the Australian Pulsar Racing Association when he was 14, and in his very first car race at Phillip Island Ryan qualified on Pole and won his first ever car race by over 5 seconds, making him the youngest to achieve this in the category.

In 2023 Ryan moved into the Toyota Gazoo Championship as a support category to the V8 Supercars. It took just 3 rounds for Ryan to find his feet, where at Tailem Bend Ryan qualified on Pole with a new track record (held by Declan Fraser, current V8 Supercar driver) and became the first ever Toyota 86 to run into the 2.14’s at the The Bend. Ryan went on to win his first race breaking the lap record in all 3 races. The only other 15 year old to win a race in the Toyota Racing Series is Broc Feeney (Current Red Bull Racing V8 Supercar driver).

In 2024 Ryan will compete in the Toyota GR Cup in the all new Toyota GR86 with the support of the partners below!
